4 Simple Steps To Turn Your Pain Into Power

1) Get To Know It

Becoming aware of yourself is one of the most powerful things you can learn.

Getting to know your thoughts and your triggers, what makes you happy and what makes you sad, is the first step in the healing process.

If you’re not aware of what caused you the pain in the first place, you’ll find it difficult to move forward.

That being said, don’t dwell on it for too long; recognize what it is and move on to the next step.

2) Write It Down

Writing is a therapy of its own.

To be honest, I use this blog as therapy for myself.

After you recognize what caused your negative experience, write it down on a piece of paper.

Some people choose to burn this paper afterwards, some choose to keep it as a reminder as to how far they’ve come.

The choice is yours.

3) Figure Out What It Taught You

This is where you turn your pain into power.

The most powerful things in life come from learning from past experiences and failing forward.

Write down all the positive things that came out of that situation.

It may take some time for you to be able to see the positive side but remember there always is, even if it doesn’t seem like that in the beginning.

Ask yourself,

“What did I learn from this experience?”

“How can I do better in the future?”

“What did I do to survive and come out the other side?”

4) Share Your Story

There’s no doubt that whatever you’re going through, someone, somewhere out there in the world has also gone through a similar situation.

You are not alone.

Sharing your story alleviates some of the burden.

You might connect with other people who have also gone through it and you can learn and support each other.

Your story may just be the one thing somebody out there in the world needs to hear to help get them through their struggles.
