Hello again everyone!

Well March was certainly a blast! This month I had lots going on with work so it flew by pretty quick. I love the spring season as that means it’s time to plant.

There’s something about putting your hands in the soil and feeling the earth; talk about grounding! I absolutely love this time of year 🙂

If you’re new here, I created this blog series to document my journey as I grow and navigate through life in hopes to inspire you to do the same and grow with me. Each month, I’ll do a reflection of the last month, set 3 goals for the month ahead and ask 1 insightful question to think about.

So let’s get started!

Monthly Reflection & April 2022 Goals

March Reflection

March was a month of self reflection and awareness of self care for me. As I talked about in my post last month, I worked on the weekends in addition to my full time job and time for myself really became limited.

That brought a lot of awareness to the topic of self care and how important it is to make time for myself no matter how busy I am.

Last month my goals were:

1) Go to the gym 2 times a week

This was doable! Getting back into a routine is always hard but once you get going, you crave more of it.

Going to the gym two times a week was manageable for me and it gave me a sense of accomplishment without the guilt of missing gym days.

I also didn’t have to beat myself up for setting a goal that was too hard to reach!

2) Read 1 book by March 31

Done! I actually read two books last month. I passed by a bargain bookstore one day and found a whole bunch of books that were on my list. I got 7 books for only $16! What a steal!

Last month, I read:

3) Do a face mask

Done! However, I didn’t do this until the end of the month. Again, it was always on my mind but I was so exhausted most of the days that I kept saying “tomorrow…tomorrow”.

Finally I did it because the month was almost over. Anyway, it felt so good to just relax and have some time for myself.

April 2022 Goals

1) Go to the gym 2 times a week

Going to the gym twice a week is totally doable and I’d like to see myself be more consistent with this before I start adding in more days.

I do have a feeling I’ll be going more than twice a week though because it felt so good!

2) Read 2 books by April 30

I’ve slacked off a lot on my reading last month and I’ve fallen a bit short of my ideal goal for this year which is reading 36 books by December 2022. Time to speed things up!

This month I have these two books planned out:

3) Do 10 self reflection journal questions

Journaling is one of those things I’m soo inconsistent with. I find myself either journaling a lot or none at all.

Often times, I put too much pressure on myself about what to write so using journal prompts acts as a guide and gives me some direction.

This month I’ll do these 10 self reflection journal questions:

  1. What rituals do I have that aren’t serving me?
  2. Where do I see myself in 5 years?
  3. How are my relationships and how can I improve them?
  4. Where am I in regards to my long-term goals?
  5. What are my natural gifts?
  6. In what situations do I feel triggered?
  7. How am I at controlling my emotions?
  8. What is one decision I made that changed my life?
  9. How are the conversations I have with myself?
  10. Where is my happy place?

I really value the time that I spend with myself now, especially as I’ve gotten older. I realized how sacred that ritual is and how I need to do more of it.

Journaling is one of the great habits that helps me spend deep, intentional time with me and only me 🙂
