Third Trimester: Week 36 Pregnancy Recap

Almost there guys, 4 more weeks to go…!

The home stretch has been the toughest for me so far. With a myriad of new symptoms popping up every week to an upcoming unexpected trip to the hospital, my faith is being tested as of right now.

This week, I did the routine group b strep test and so far so good. I was also scheduled for an ultrasound to check the size and growth of the uterine fibroid that was found back in May.

I’ve been staying positive all week, praying that the uterine fibroid did not grow in size or potentially cause any complications for labor and delivery.

The scan came back with no growth at all (thank God) but they noted that they found a cyst in the pelvic area of the baby.

Because this is a rather rare case, my midwife wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. I was then referred to BC Women’s Hospital to see a few different specialists to get more information.

My appointment is scheduled for next week where I’ll be spending all day at the hospital doing scans and meeting with different specialists.

I’d be lying if I told you I’m not worried. I’m working on keeping my head in a good space.

I know that whatever happens is part of the universe’s plan and that things happen for me and not to me.

Symptoms

Insomnia

Well are you surprised!? Of course I can’t sleep with all that’s been going on.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

Still dealing with this, although it’s more manageable now and staying as active as I can during the day to improve my blood circulation and making sure I’m well hydrated are things that help.

Mood & Energy

A little bummed out about my appointments coming up next week. It’s hard not to be haunted by the words “what if…

Interrupting the negative thought pattern when it comes and reminding myself that I can overcome anything is where I want to keep my mind at.

Going for walks around the park help clear my head since gym is pretty much out of the picture now. I only went to the gym once this week and I’m staying closer to home as her due date is getting closer.

Highlights This Week

Other than the cyst found in baby this week, I’m still finding the good that also happened which was the fact that my uterine fibroid didn’t change in size, so that’s a win for me!

All other baby checks were also not of any concern and she is estimated to be 6lbs and 6oz this week.

Cravings

More sweets and strangely, Hainanese chicken craving this week…

Favorites This Week

TENS Machine Muscle Stimulator for Pain Relief – Since I’m planning on an unmedicated birth, I’ve been reading about the TENS machine and the affects of pain relief during labor. My midwife also recommended that I get myself one of these.

If you’re planning on an unmedicated birth, make sure to grab yourself one as well!

Thanks for stopping by 💕
