Hello again everyone!

Can you believe it’s JUNE already!? I certainly can’t… I don’t know why but time seems to pass by so much faster when you’re older.

We’ve reached the half year mark of 2022 and looking back, I’m thinking about how much (or how little) I’ve accomplished in certain areas of my life.

I usually like to take an inventory of my goals every few months to check my progress but this year I’ve totally missed those quarterly check ups.

Moving forward, I should be more diligent and check in on my progress every month. Now that it’s June, I really gotta get myself focused again!

If you’re new here, I created this blog series to document my journey as I grow and navigate through life in hopes to inspire you to do the same and grow with me. Each month, I’ll do a reflection of the last month, set 3 goals for the month ahead and ask 1 insightful question to think about.

So let’s get started!

Monthly Reflection & June 2022 Goals

May Reflection

May was good to me and I think that’s because I was good to myself. You really do get the results if you put in the work and I totally saw that in May.

There’s been some changes at my work with a new position of Supervisor coming up and I’m happy to say that I’ve applied.

I’ll be getting the results today which I’m soooo excited for! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

It’s finally kinda starting to feel like summer here with the weather getting a tiny bit warmer but still gloomy with quite a bit of rain on some days.

We had May long weekend here for Victoria Day and the sun just couldn’t resist to come out and celebrate so I literally did all the outdoor activities I possibly could in those 4 days Lol!

I played tennis, I went to the driving range, I worked out, I went for a trail hike, I had a barbeque and I did lots of gardening! It sooo felt like summer for those 4 days.

My legs were so sore from all the physical activity I did that I was wobbling like a weirdo at work for 2 days but it was worth it!

Last month my goals were:

1) Go to the gym 3 times a week

Done and surpassed! I worked out 4 times a week twice in May and it felt SO good. I realized that I can’t miss more than 2 days in a row to avoid falling off track.

It’s so much easier to be steady and consistent with any routine than trying to get it going over and over again.

2) Read 2 books by May 31

Done! I just started another book in May too by 50 Cent, “Hustle Harder Hustle Smarter” which has got me hooked!

It’s so fascinating to dive into the mind of a true hustler and to learn what it really takes to make it in the world, no matter what has happened in your past. Very, very inspiring so far!

Last month I read:

3) Recreate and prioritize my to-do lists

Done! This tip from Brian Tracy’s book “Eat That Frog!” was so helpful.

I made a master to-do list with all the tasks I need to do for each main area of my life (work, blog, and home) and prioritized them.

Each week, I took the highest priority tasks and moved them to another list.

Then I took the highest priority tasks from that week and moved them into my daily task list.

My to-do lists before were all jumbled up and so confusing, it actually gave me anxiety.

I also felt so overwhelmed which led to procrastination.

This one nugget changed everything!

I highly recommend his book for more little tips that can improve your daily life.

June 2022 Goals

1) Workout 4 times a week

I’m feeling like I can take on more workout days this month. Especially because it’s getting warmer, I plan to do more outdoor activities.

So this month, I’ve set the goal of “workout 4 times a week” as opposed to “Go to the gym 4 times a week” because I’ll include 1 day of physical activity outside, SO excited for this!

2) Read 1 Book by June 30

This month I’m reading:

I have a feeling this book is going to change the way I think, I mean it already has. It’s been so captivating.

Even though 50 cent didn’t start things out in life the “right” way so to speak, he’s really taken all those experiences and transformed them into something beautiful. I can’t wait to finish it!

3) Take The Stairs

This may seem meniscal but I’m sure it will have a huge effect. I plan to take the stairs at work and at home everyday this whole month.

There has been so many times when I’m waiting for the elevator for so long that it would have just been faster if I took the stairs, so I started to wonder…why don’t I just take the stairs? Like I’m only going 2 or 3 floors lol it’s kinda silly now that I think about it!
