Hello wonderful people! I hope the new year has treated you well and you’ve all gotten off to a great start.

As we slowly move away from the chilling cold weather and into the rays of sunshine that peep through the clouds, I realized how much sunshine affects my mood.

Here in Vancouver, or should I say, Raincouver, the weather can get pretty depressing with heaps of rainfall and clouds of darkness everyday during the colder winter months.

I’m SO glad for January to be over because that means February is around the corner and March is coming up soon, which basically means, more sunshine!

If you’re new here, I created this blog series to document my journey as I grow and navigate through life in hopes to inspire you to do the same and grow with me. Each month, I’ll do a reflection of the last month, set 3 goals for the month ahead and ask 1 insightful question to think about.

So let’s get right into it!

Monthly Reflection & February 2022 Goals

January Reflection

Like I said earlier, I just couldn’t wait for January to be over.

It was like I was purposely making time go by faster (I know, not actually possible but wouldn’t it be cool if it were) by either not being as present or being SO present in my work that I lose track of time.

I kept myself busy and watched a lot more mind-numbing television than I usually prefer.

On the other hand, the gyms opened up half way through the month!!

This was so awesome and just what I needed to help me get through the rest of January.

Last month my goals were:

1) Do 50 squats 3 times a week

Done! Even though the gyms opens back up half way through the month, I must say it was SO difficult for me to get back into my regular workout routine.

Ever since the gyms closed last month, I started to sleep in a bit before work since I don’t need to be up at 5:00 AM and getting myself back into that routine consistently was such a struggle.

2) Read 3 books by January 31

For January I had these books planned out:

Editor's Pick
Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience

I read 1 and a half. I finished Brené Brown’s Atlas Of The Heart which I really liked.

It talks about all the different kinds of emotions we feel and helps you distinguish specific differences between them and provides insight on what they actually mean.

I’ve started my second book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi which I aim to finish by the first week of February.

A little behind my initial goal but hey that’s alright, 1 book is better than no book!

3) Meditate for 45 minutes

I did 30 minutes again because that’s all my body was able to do. 45 minutes just seems soo long even though it’s only 15 more minutes.

Anyway, I’m not sure what it was this time but I felt really distracted the whole time and constantly thinking about when the time will be up.

I wasn’t able to teleport to that place I went to last time. I think the real power here would be to be able to go to that calm place in my mind on those days when I am feeling so flustered.

February 2022 Goals

1) Workout 4 days a week

I think the best way for me to get back into my routine is to just do it.

Even though, I’m having such a hard time waking up at 5:00AM again and my body gets sore after just 1 day at the gym, the only way is to push through it!

2) Read 3 books by February 28

For this month, I’ll read:

I Will Teach You to Be Rich: No Guilt. No Excuses

3) Meditate for 7 days in a row

For this, I’m going to focus on 15 minute meditations every single day.

What I want to accomplish here is consistency.

If I make it a part of my routine, maybe I won’t miss meditations as much.

I need to give it a time and a space in my life, kinda like brushing my teeth; there’s no way I would ever go a day without doing it!

Thanks for stopping by 💕
