Nesting vibes already starting to kick in this week! I only have two more weeks of work and I am so ready to focus on baby for the last trimester.

I decided take my maternity leave as soon as possible which is 12 weeks before your due date here in Vancouver, BC.

To be honest, working 5 days a week while pregnant is not easy. I really wanted to connect with my baby week by week.

I felt like I missed weeks of my pregnancy just because I was so tired from work and all other housekeeping things.

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to focusing 100% on getting ready for baby and also being able to fully focus on my own self care for the last trimester.

Second Trimester: Week 26 Pregnancy Recap

Symptoms

Braxton hicks

I’m experiencing a similar situation as the beginning of the second trimester when I wasn’t sure if baby was moving and what exactly I was feeling.

I think I felt Braxton hicks twice this week? (front of my belly got really tight all of a sudden) but again because this is all new to me, I’m not 100% sure.

Knee pain

I believe this has to do with the amount of weight I’ve gained and my body not being used to it.

So far I’ve gained about 20lbs and I’ve got one more trimester to go. Let’s keep it slow and steady…

Mood & Energy

Felt pretty awesome this week with high energy levels. I went to the gym four times this week.

Started nesting and washed all of baby’s clothes (so darn cute!) and organized them in her dresser.

Also found some postpartum freezer meal recipes and began making some of those as well.

Cravings

Again, nada! Nothing in particular stood out this week for me. I even had trouble deciding what I wanted to eat for dinner almost every night…

It was so much easier when I did have cravings in the first trimester. Although they weren’t healthy ones, at least it didn’t take us an hour to decide what to eat some nights. Who’s been there?

Highlights This Week

Finally got a new phone! I’ve been using the iPhone 10 for sooo long and didn’t think about getting a new phone anytime soon.

My husband convinced me to get the iPhone 14 Plus, said I’ll need it to take beautiful baby pictures. SOLD! I’ll take that offer any day 🙂

Another highlight this week was my husband surprising me with a maternity photoshoot!

I didn’t want to do it in the beginning as it was quite pricey and I thought it’s better to spend the money on baby stuff (as all you mama’s know how fast that can add up).

However, my hubby thought it’s a once in a lifetime feeling to be pregnant for the very first time and believes it should be captured!

Again, SOLD! Can’t wait for the photoshoot!
